Drawing and painting have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Cheshire and was encouraged to join the local Art Society when I was 16. When I completed my nurse training, it became a great hobby and a good way to relax after a long shift.

I spent most of my working life in the Midlands and worked mainly in pastel. I enjoy the spontaneity of the medium and love to portray the vibrancy of nature with autumn tints, spring woodlands, formal gardens and distant views.

When I moved to Devon three years ago, I felt really inspired by the landscape, the green hills with shifting shadows, the moorlands and the seascapes. I continue to work in pastel but have also enjoyed some pen and wash sketching around my local area.

I love the creative community within TAS, sharing experiences with like-minded friends, meeting regularly at painting groups, workshops and exhibitions.
