About

Stuart’s work has two distinct strands. One is a love of the simple graphite pencil, using it to create detailed drawings of wildlife, domestic animals, and, more recently, people. This traditional approach remains central to his practice, valuing observation, texture, and quiet detail.

The other side of Stuart’s work focuses on military-themed illustration, particularly aviation. He has previously been commissioned to produce aircraft profiles for Amber Publishing and Overlord Publishing. These illustrations are created digitally, primarily using Photoshop and Inkscape.

While Stuart occasionally experiments with paint and pastels in his wildlife work, his true passion lies in creating artwork with the humble graphite pencil.
