We’re unlocking a world of natural, wild beauty where ponies and people who were struggling can enjoy life again.

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary

Imagine a peaceful Devon pony sanctuary as the setting for YOUR artwork, inspired by the theme of ‘horses and wellbeing’. 

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary would love you to take part in a special art and photography competition, exhibition and sale showcasing the work of talented creatives across the Southwest.

Opportunities to share your work with the public in an unusual setting like this like this don’t come up very often. The competition is free to enter up to two pieces per category of your original work in any of the four appropriate categories:  

• Original art (painting, mixed media) 
• Children’s Art (children under 16 years) 
• Photography 
• Mare and Foal Sanctuary staff and volunteers 

Works will be judged by local experts with prizes for the winners and highly commended in each category.

At this special public art event, visitors and artists will also get the chance to meet many of the Sanctuary’s rescued ponies and horses on guided tours throughout the day, enjoy light refreshments and browse a pop-up charity shop selling artist supplies.
