About
I love many forms of art. Since childhood, I have found myself drawn to create art, especially drawings and paintings. At present, I paint on canvas using acrylic colours.
My paintings are predominantly commentary and narrative portraits of various groups of society in many contexts of life, showing them in a darkly satirical and primitive, grotesque style, often using distortion of forms.
Some of the artists established in the history of art who inspired me in their works and also used satire, narrative and grotesque style are: James Ensor, George Grosz, Otto Dix, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, James Gillray, Francisco de Goya, Fernando Botero, and Pieter Bruegel.
Medieval art, which delivered social messages, also had an influence on my own artworks.
