Michael Brown is a local artist dedicated to capturing the immersive beauty of local landscapes in the medium of oils.  Working in a photo-realism style, his work focuses on river scenes, dense tree lines, and reflective waters.  He strives to create a surface so detailed and evocative that the viewer doesn’t just look at the scene, but feels they are standing within it.  Michael focuses on the intimate portrayal of the rivers and woodlands local to him, using fine detail to emphasise the interplay of trees and water reflections. His aim is to offer viewers an immediate, visceral experience of being there.  More of Michael’s work can be viewed on his website, and visitors are welcome to view his collection in his home studio in Stoke Canon by prior notice.
