Portrait Painting 4 Week Evening Course in Crediton at The White Room Creative Space

6 – 8pm Wednesdays, 2nd – 23rd February 2022

I am a portrait painter based in Devon and I specialise in oil portraits. When painting portraits I love to use deep colour, with contrasting light and a striking composition. I have been doing private commissions and self initiated projects since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2016.

These evening courses will focus on capturing expressions and personalities using vivid colour and light. You will be guided in a small, friendly group (maximum 8 people) ensuring plenty of one-to-one tuition. I will take you through a step-by-step process of creating a likeness and exploring the application of paint. By the end of the 4 weeks, participants will feel confident in using acrylic to mix skin tones and using multiple layers to create depth of colour and likeness of their subject.

To get the full benefit of this course, participants will need to source a high-resolution photo(s) of a person that they’d like to paint in advance of the start of the course.

All materials and refreshments will be provided. Please bring all Painting equipment such as table top easels and brushes that you’re used to using.
