PRINT, PAINT & DRAW WITH CLAIRE WESTERN
Art workshops at The Old Brick Workshop in Wellington
Claire Western is a well-established West Country painter and printmaker, who has been showing and selling her work in galleries, group and solo exhibitions for many years. She is also an experienced and successful teacher of both adults and secondary-age students and has been Head of Art at Queen’s College in Taunton for the past twelve years. She has now left the school in order to concentrate fully on her own work and teaching adults in classes and workshops.
She has planned a series of exciting and varied courses, starting this autumn, which will be held at The Old Brick Workshop in Wellington.
‘I am really excited about these workshops. It is several years since I last ran adult classes and during that time, I have discovered and explored so many new ways of working and using fantastic materials. The internet is a constant source of new ideas and a means of exploring the work of a wide range of other artists’ work’, says Claire. ‘I also have a printing press and will provide everything people will need to explore collagraph printmaking, etching, mixed media work, collage and so many other fascinating and creative ways of working.’
She also plans to run drawing and painting courses. “I’m very aware that many people want to develop and painting skills in a group environment led by an experienced tutor and artist,” said Claire. Details of every course are on her website: clairewestern.co.uk.
Each course is designed to cater for a full range of experience, from the complete novice to more competent artists.
