We’re delighted to share some exciting news about one of our TAS members, artist Rachel Stubbs, who will be appearing on BBC Two’s Race Against the Tide.

The programme brings together talented artists from across the country to take on the ultimate creative challenge – creating incredible sculptures from sand, all while racing against the incoming tide.

Rachel has been a sand sculptor for around 15 years, and after years of travelling around the world creating spectacular sand sculptures, she was thrilled to be asked to take part in the show.

Her career as a sand sculptor has taken her to some amazing places, creating artwork on beaches around the globe. These days, however, Rachel spends more time closer to home, working from her studio in Devon.

While sand remains an important part of her artistic journey, Rachel’s creative work has continued to evolve. From her Devon studio, she now paints pet portraits and wildlife originals, as well as abstract landscapes, bringing a different side of her artistic talent to life.

Taking part in Race Against the Tide gives Rachel the opportunity to return to the sand and showcase the skills she has developed over 15 years, competing against other talented artists with the added challenge of working against the clock, and the incoming sea!

We’re incredibly proud to see one of our TAS members appearing on such an exciting BBC programme and can’t wait to see Rachel take on the challenge.
