Watercolour Art Classes for Beginners
Broadwoodkelly Village Hall with Celia Olsson
Celia will be starting a new watercolour art class on Thursday 30th September 2021. This short course is aimed towards those who are completely new to watercolour and those who haven’t done any watercolour for a long time.
Dates: 16th, 30th September, 14th, 28th October, 11th, 25th November.
Time: 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Cost: 6 x 2-hoursessions @ £15 per session = £90. You pay £60 when registering to make sure the course can go ahead and then £5 each time you attend a session. This includes coffee, tea and biscuits and your first supply of paint and paper.
The first sessions will cover:
- learning how to mix colours and how they work together
- painting with a minimal palette of colours
- how to paint washes
- the different marks a brush can make
- how to create a scene with minimum detail
- learning what to leave out, what to move, and what to add
- interpreting and sketching from photographs
- adding people and animals simply
In each class there will be demonstrations, exercises to practise a method and time for you to experiment before starting on the main painting. Topics for paintings will include: Dartmoor, woodlands, rivers and lakes.
In all my classes I aim to encourage participants so they gain confidence to develop their own unique style.
A booking form is attached for you to send with your cheque.
As it is not known at the moment which way Covid-19 infections will be going, numbers will be limited and we will follow sensible guidelines (like wearing masks when we’re moving about the hall) to protect ourselves and each other.
I have a small shop which I bring to each class when you can purchase materials or order for delivery at the next class. I will send a list of recommended painting materials and directions to Broadwoodkelly, if you require them, when I acknowledge receipt of your booking and payment.
